The counties in Southern Indiana are part of the larger metropolitan service area of Louisville, Kentucky, where Volunteers of America first began operating in Kentucky in August, 1896.  Part of the proud tradition of this organization, and yet offering distinctively localized services specifically in the counties of Clark and Floyd in Indiana, Volunteers of America provides supportive services to individuals with developmental disabilities in a network of small residences.  In this setting, vulnerable individuals who are unable to live independently, receive professional direct care 24 hours a day, allowing them to participate and experience greater quality of life in the local community.
